I was born in a small farming community on the west side of the Illinois. I grew up in a proud union home and appreciate how hard both my parents worked. From them I saw the importance of hard work, kindness, and honesty and I still hold these values close to my heart. They also installed a love of learning that led me to my Master’s Degree from SIU Carbondale.
It was a stroke of good luck that I met my husband while we were both were volunteering for Old St. Pat’s Block party. We moved to DuPage in 2008 and have settled in our forever home in 2018 in unincorporated Warrenville. We both make each other a better person and I am lucky to have his support in this new challenge. Together we added two wonderful children Benjamin and Samantha to our family. Rounding out the household are two rescue dogs Molly and Millie, and two rescue cats Zelda and Kevin.
I love spending time with my family, walking in the local Forrest Preserve, working in my garden, and exploring the library for new books.
I have worked in supply chain for over 15 years which has offered an opportunity to work with a variety of suppliers in the US, Europe, and Asia. This means that at times I am planning nine months in advance in a consistently changing environment. The last three years have been the most challenging but has showed me the importance of perseverance and creative thinking, which I plan use while serving all the people DuPage County.
